Last year we heard about an inspirational woman who opened her café at Christmas to give elderly people who were alone the opportunity to spend the day with others. She had been doing this for a few years, and we were very touched by this and so contacted her to see if we could do anything to help. She suggested maybe donating Christmas presents, so that is exactly what we did.
We then decided to donate some more gifts and looked for charitable organisations that would benefit, so it was decided to donate gifts to a Women’s Refuge, which was gladly appreciated by the Mums and Children of all ages spending Christmas there.
This year, we have decided to hire a local community centre and invite elderly & valuable patrons who would be spending Christmas alone. We’ll be cooking them Christmas dinner and giving them the opportunity to have a happy and carefree time with others.
